Description

This release works ok http://musicbrainz.org/show/release/?mbid=75ce7a7c-cdde-467e-9b05-549c2f8c1e9b whereas this release http://musicbrainz.org/show/release/?mbid=a393d056-f89d-4814-acdb-7bc83aa69cf3 has a valid ASIN and has an info/buy box but doest show the image Following the link, you can see it does actually have an amazon image (as well as three customer images) but it is not stored in the normal location in that the image name is related to the ASIN (e.g http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000001FRY.01LZZZZZZZ.jpg) but in the following location instead (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31OteXLQehL._SS500_.jpg), I assume this is what is causing the problem.

On the Musicbrainz website it is now showing a cover , however if you click on the link the page only shows 3 customer images (Im sure there used to be an official image) and the first of the customer images is different to the one displayed. So how does mb server do this, has it done it correctly and can we have seperate cover art relationships so we wouldnt have this kind of confusion.

mb_server creates the URL from the ASIN (which is why the image doesn't show when Amazon don't use their usual image naming format). I've noticed a couple of cases where MB shows the cover but Amazon itself doesn't, I can only assume that for some odd reason, Amazon doesn't have that particular image associated with the ASIN.

I asked Rob and Yllona about cover art relationships for Amazon, but apparently we're not allowed to store a link to the cover art.

Ok, but in this case Amazon ISNT using its normal image naming format but Musicbraizn is still showing an image, how does it do this ?

http://bugs.musicbrainz.org/changeset/8669 - it's not using images.amazon.com now.

I've run the amazon cleanup script which has now converted all of the old style amazon matched ASINs to proper Amazon Cover art links. This problem has now gone away.

Does that mean mp3-ASIN cover art is working too?

No, because this bug isn't fixed. It has nothing to do with the old Amazon matching script.

Oh well. I'm done with it. Leave it open to rot.
